Designed as a modern, fully automated, ultra high bay distribution centre, the facility comprises almost 110,000 square metres and services the entire Coop store network across Sweden.
It features significant clear heights, extensive chilled and ambient storage, and 99 loading docks. The high quality facility is served by both road and direct rail access.
Strategically positioned on the eastern edge of the Nordic Trade Triangle in Eskilstuna, the industrial town has undergone considerable development in recent years. Located approximately one hour from Stockholm, the logistics park has attracted major third party logistics operators, drawn by its strong connectivity to key European motorways, rail networks, and airports.
Project Scope
The project was delivered by a dedicated team of approximately 10 personnel. The works comprised the installation of overhead sprinkler systems, valve stations, and a dedicated sprinkler pump room, including in house fabrication of pipework assemblies.
A key component of the scope involved the integration of sprinkler systems within fully automated high bay racking structures, forming part of a matrix based storage solution provided by SSI Schäfer. This required close coordination with the racking installation programme, with phased execution aligned to the progressive erection of the structure.
The installation was carried out within a highly automated logistics environment, requiring detailed planning, interface management, and strict adherence to installation tolerances, sequencing, and safety requirements.
